Some pieces of furniture we find really arent worth the work!  BUT, sometimes there is something that grabs you and you have to use all your talent and experience to save it.  This is one of those!
This desk is dated 1936, under King Edward VIII before he abdicated.  The brass handle is marked as King George.  The stamp underneath also tells us it was for a medical officer in Nottingham.
Ending as a craft and potting desk it has had a tough life but we have kept the patina and have found a smooth tactile surface in the antique Oak.
The whole frame has been rebuilt as has the top and drawer.  It is now a strong desk with lots of history and character that could last another 90 years!
