UPDATE

As referenced below this lamp was believed to have been saved from a boat called the Fishermans Wife.  Our recent research into our bell from MFV1080 “HMS Watchful” also gave us information that this searchlight is from another MFV (Motor Fishing Vessel) called HMS Fishermans Wife, possibly 1060 or 1062.  Tieing in with the information below the actual ship still survives, as a wreck, in Tipner Yard Gosport Portsmouth.

We believe this light is from MFV 1060/2 “Fishermans Wife”

1941 Francis Maritime 11” search light
Model E3/11, 12 volt/ 250 watt
Overall height, including the plinth 166cm.  Widest point is the base at 33cm.
This is a cabin mounted model with remote control and is the earlier two bolt bezel model.
Fully restored by Fork Handle Revival of Southampton England.
This light was originally chrome plated however, most of the chrome had gone which led us to this polished brass presentation allowing the piece to be returned to original if required.
Our presentation also shows the fabrication process of this earlier body.  Having had a chrome finish originally suggests the light was fitted to a civilian craft.
We have saved and used many of the original parts and replaced, where necessary, with exact items supplied by specialists.
The bulb holder reflector plates etc are all original.  We have wired it to household specification for display purposes.  Even with a 40w bulb it is very bright!

Only two areas have come away from original.
The first is the control handle which we have not sourced and didn’t want to replicate, again leaving to the new owners own preferences.  The remote controls, tilt bar and fittings are all present and working
The second is the bezel finger bolts.  We used our own creative licence to make these wing bolts as the originals could not be specified.  We have used marine quality brass.
